An Awesome World
Published September 18, 2009 by Spike
Last year, Dallas who runs this blog here, gave me a book he was going to print, “An Awesome Book” He wanted to make a book to spread his optimisim and enthusiam for the world in the form of a picture book. I loved it.

The book is about having dreams. When it came time to find an illustrator, he couldn’t find one, so he drew it himself. And when it came time to find a publisher, he couldn’t find one, so he published it himself. And this is what his book is all about. The book has now sold thousands of copies all over the world and he is starting a foundation, “The Awesome World Foundation.” Watch the video as he tells the whole story. What a beautiful thing you made Dallas.
We Love You Sofa

This is a goodbye video for our loving edit room sofa that stood by us for the last two years of post production. It had taken quite a beating but never stopped giving.
Erik Jessen edited this and the music is Scott Mathew from the Shortbus soundtrack.

Sonny’s Haircuts

My new favorite series of Sonny’s drawings. It’s of girls haircuts. I think it is really a self portrait because it shows the kind of girls he would have a crush on. Sonny, can I have these? I’ll trade you something?
Hanging an Art Show
Published September 15, 2009 by Spike
Went by Urban Outfitters on Cahuenga tonight. They gave us a gallery space to hang some still from the movie and some of Sonny’s creature design drawings. The proceeds will go to our friends at 826 LA. Lance is currating the images as you can see. And they also are doing a pop up Wild Things shop in the store which we saw in progress and looked great. They are also showing/selling(?) some very limited one of a kind Wild Things outfits that our good friend Christian Joy made. We’ll be posting a Christian Joy interview soon with all the pics. The opening is on Saturday night.
