Does anyone lay claim to the knowledge of all the Peanuts-related merchandise ever created? Someone knows. Someone out there has that information in their mind. We’d have to track them down and ask them, but something tells me the Peanuts Cook Book has got to be in the top ten raddest peripheral objects ever derived from the imagination of Charles Schulz. Recipes include:
Lucy’s Lemon Squares
Great Pumpkin Cookies
Security Cinnamon Toast
Charlie Brown’s Mother’s Buttered Oven-Potatoes
Paula Deen who? It’s all about Lucy with her Divine Divinity and Snoopy’s Steak Tartar. Found via Kitsch’n.

This is amazing, I had this book as a kid, and cooked it till it fell apart. Never thought about taking care of it for my kids …. damn. I still call good food “goop”. Thanks for the memory.
OMG I HAD THIS
I had that too! It was amazing. I think we still have it somewhere. Great find.
I had this too!!! I was doing a google search tonight looking for Lucy’s Lemon Squares recipe . . . I’ve never found a recipe that lives up to my childhood memories.
I actually have this here with me now!! I love it! However, my copy is a bit more distressed looking than the version you have on ‘we love you so’…
The Peanuts merch empire is crazy expansive! I recently ran across this Peanuts-themed gospel book while digging through a discount bin.

The Peanuts Cookbook far surpasses the wimpy lunch cook book that has you asking your mom to cut a sandwich in half and pretty much keeps you a mile away from the stove. At 10 my mom gave my brother and I free reign of the kitchen to create everything in this cook book a few times over. Ah, the good old days when commercials didn’t have the legal “…..stunt driver on closed course, do not attempt.” A book like this would never be written today because the fear of a potential lawsuit from parents of careless children burning or cutting themselves. The same reason you don’t see easy bake ovens anymore.
Footnote. We were never injured in attempting to create these tasty treats and everything came out very good for us being 10 and 8 years old.
Oh, you dear people! What wonderful memories you have brought me tonight!
I came to the computer on the off chance that someone had published the recipe for Lucy’s Lemon Squares on the internet so I didn’t have to go searching for my Peanuts cook book, (which is losing it’s binding but still intact for my children’s children someday) I guess I thought I was the only one that kept the little book….guess not!!
I made these ALL the time. Never saw them anywhere else much until I was in a Nordstrom cafe about 15 years ago and they were charging an arm and a leg for their gourmet concoction!! Give me a break!!! We’ve been making these little treasures for years now, haven’t we!!!! Merry Christmas!!!
Hi Everyone. I’m belatedly joining this discussion on the Peanuts Cookbook which, believe it or not, I just bought brand-new in Borders in Houston, TX. We had this as a kid and, like everyone else, my fave. recipe was Lucy’s Lemon Squares. I made them last week (with a less floury nut crust) and they were everything I remembered. When I make them again, I’ll double the topping – it was too thin. I’ve got Lucy’s Applesauce Pie in the oven right now and I wondered what would happen if I googled “Peanuts Cookbook recipes” – and, here I am! Thanks for the great memories. There’s publisher information inside the book if anyone wants it. Email me at email hidden; JavaScript is required if you want the info.
I have been looking for the recipe for Lucy’s Lemon Squares for some time. I used to have the cookbook and the bright green on the cover is exactly the same. How do I obtain the recipe for the Lemon Squares?
